THE AREA
If you plan to explore this wonderful area then why not start by heading around the corner to the start of the famous Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, with over 5 miles of walking and many waterfalls, it makes a great day out. The walk brings you straight into the centre of the village so you can enjoy a well-deserved pub lunch afterwards. Ingleton is a fantastic base for walking, climbing, potholing, cycling and even caving in the nearby White Scar Caves.
A few miles drive out of Ingleton is the village of Clapham where there is a fantastic nature trail that passes by a lake, through mature woodland and is surrounded by spectacular limestone before reaching Ingleborough Show Cave. The trail takes you to Trow Gill and past Gaping Gill (Britain’s largest pothole), eventually bringing you to the summit of Ingleborough. If you want to explore further, why not take a trip to Hawes, famous for the Wensleydale factory where you can book a tour and shop for cheese until your heart’s content! The old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale is great for fine dining, traditional pubs and cafés as well as boutique shopping, and is only a few miles away. You can reach the south Lake District within 30 minutes as well as the west coast of Lancashire.
Laburnum Cottage lies under the Three Peaks, Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent and Whernside, and also Gaping Ghyll so why not take a holiday in this fantastic location to stay and explore the entire Yorkshire Dales! Beach 20 miles. Shop 170 yards, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
